Thank you for considering Northwestern for your graduate studies. The Department of Political Science has a strong history of success in training scholars for research and teaching positions at universities and colleges, both in the United States and around the world. A recent study (Schmidt and Chingos, 2007)*, published by the American Political Science Association (APSA), ranked Northwestern's Political Science department ninth in the nation for graduate placement into faculty positions.
